Staying at the InterContinental Resorts in French Polynesia

First stop Tahiti Tahiti is visited by every traveler that comes to French Polynesia, but not many stay on the island long. All international flights land in Tahiti before visitors continue on their way to other islands. We are definitely guilty of this the first time we visited in 2019, we never stepped outside the airport. This time we were excited to take our time and make our way around the whole island of Tahiti.   After landing at 4am, we picked up our rental car and headed for the ring road. We made no plans that day, so we stopped at every attraction on Google Maps. By 3pm, it…

    48 HOURS IN DUBAI

Traveling during this pandemic was no easy task, but it did allow Colin and I to experience trips we otherwise would not have be able to afford. Africa has been on my bucket list for as far back as I can remember, however, the cost of the trip there was always holding me back. I pick a lot of our destinations based on the cost of flight/hotel, not on our urge to travel there. That’s exactly how we ended up going to Africa out of the blue! Our trip to Tahiti was cancelled a week before we were to leave, so I started looking through my saved album of dream…

Escape To Mexico – Where we stayed

This year has been filled with unpleasant surprises. Many of us have been stuck at home for a year and are craving some adventurer. The tourist industry has also been hit pretty hard, so in an effort to get people traveling again, prices have been lowered around the world. I don’t want to encourage travel during this time, but it is possible and will help a lot of the travel industry. Just remember to travel responsibly and safely! Where did we stay? 1. UNICO 20°87° The first place we stayed was UNICO 20°87°. This is an All-Inclusive resort and the first one we have ever stayed at. When we booked,…

    Out West: Part 2

It has felt like everything was against me writing this blog post. I’ve been sick going on two weeks now, nothing serious, but i’ve been so tired! Plus, we are hosting Christmas dinner this year and I’m rushing to clean and plan dinner. Right after I post this, i’m running to the store and trying to get my life together after being housebound for two weeks. Anyway, here is part two of our trip out west.  After staying the night in Joshua Tree Aces, we headed to the national park on our way out of town. We were able to drive in before they opened and made it to most of…

    Out West: Part 1

This blog post has been way over-due, but now that I am officially done planning a wedding, I have some time to think. Don’t worry, I will be sharing a post about our wedding too! We ended up going out west last year, because we both have never been and it wasn’t going to cost us an arm and leg. Planning a wedding AND honeymoon has been expensive, but I still needed a small trip to somewhere mixed in. I planned the first 3 nights of the trip out, then didn’t know where to go next. I had almost 20 points of interest saved on my google maps, but knew…

Italy Part 4: Portofino and Venice

Be sure to check out the rest of our trip to Italy Part 1 – Rome | Part 2 – Pompeii and Positano | Part 3 – Tuscany and Florence I’m sad this is my last blog post from Italy, I love looking back at all the images we took! The last two cities we visited in Italy were Portofino and Venice. I actually booked Portofino by accident, thinking I was booking a hotel outside the Cinque Terre.  It ended up being a 3 hours drive difference, so we headed straight to Portofino after leaving Pisa. On our way to the hotel, we were stopped by a road block turning away all traffic from Portofino.…

Italy Part 3: Tuscany and Florence

Be sure to check out the rest of our trip to Italy Part 1 – Rome | Part 2 – Pompeii and Positano After our last breakfast on the Amalfi Coast, we packed our car and headed towards Tuscany. We spent most of the day in the car. It took around 6 hours to reach our next airbnb. On the way, we stopped by the Saturnia hot springs. The springs were packed with people, but we had to jump in and experience it for ourselves. I could see myself coming here after work and just relaxing into the night. After the springs, we headed to our airbnb. It was out in the middle…

Italy Part 2: Pompeii and Positano

Be sure to check out the rest of our trip to ItalyPart 1 – Rome  We said goodbye to Rome with buttered croissants, great coffee and headed off in our rental car. We rented from Eurpocar, making it easy to pick up our car in Rome and dropping it off in Venice. We got pretty use to driving in Italy on the way out of Rome. We learned pretty fast to just let people over and pull out in front if you need to turn (no one is going to stop for you if you just sit there). Overall, driving seemed pretty easy. Our third day in Italy we planned…

    Italy Part 1: Rome

Colin and I started planning our trip to Italy a few years ago, but ended up not taking it because I changed jobs. We didn’t know where we wanted to go this year, so we decided to pull out our old plans and go to Italy!  Our original trip was planned for two weeks, so we had to cut a few cities from our list and my mom also joined us. We flew into Rome at 9:30am and were ready to get exploring. I love taking red eyes and arriving at our destination in the mornings. It allows us to hit the ground running and not mess up our sleep…

Iceland Part 4: Silfra snorkeling, Aurora Borealis, & Reykjavik

Be sure to check out the rest of our trip to Iceland Part 1  |  Part 2  |  Part 3 Finally, part four of our Iceland trip! This post will cover our last 3 days in Iceland up until the time we left. Our fourth day in Iceland, started out early again. We left our hotel around 9:30 and I was really hoping to see it in daylight. It never got bright enough and we ended up being late to our snorkeling tour, oops. When looking for activities to do in Iceland, I wanted to do something we couldn’t do anywhere else in the world. Where else can you swim between two tectonic…
