^^ The truffle goat cheese is a must!

Our hotel was so cute! If I ever go back, I would stay here again!

On our way to Prague, we decided to stop in Amsterdam for a night. I am so glad we did and so sad we didn’t get to stay longer! Since this was my mom’s first time in Europe and we didn’t have much time on the trip, I wanted her to see as much as possible.

The first night we walked around Amsterdam and just admired all the cute shops, cafes and canals. Amsterdam was so beautiful! We ended up going into the Cheese Company and trying all the different cheeses. Our favorite was the truffle goat cheese and we regret not bringing some back with us! It was sooo good!  After we left, we headed to the museums because my mom really wanted to visit the Van Gogh, thankfully it was a Friday night and it stays open until 10PM. We did, of course, stopped and pose with the famous “I amsterdam” sign before. After leaving Van Gogh, we were amazed it was still so light out! We ended up walking around for 2 more hours and forgot about dinner haha, we could not find a restaurant that was still serving food. Finally we found a place that served until 1am and they had the most amazing BBQ chicken burger ever! I wish I had it now!

Our main attraction to going to Amsterdam was the Anne Frank House, which we visited on the second day. On May 1st of this year, you had to have a ticket to enter the House before 3pm. Getting tickets were a pain, because every time I went to the site it would change how many tickets were available. Finally after my 5th day of checking, two tickets showed up for the morning we were going to be there. I’ve read online people wait almost 3 hours before getting entry, but because we had tickets we just walked right in with no wait!  It was great, because the house wasn’t over crowded and pushy. If you plan on seeing the house, I definitely recommend getting tickets before hand.

We ended up getting to the airport way too early! We were planning on taking the train but once we got to the hotel, they ordered a cab for us. The cab didn’t even take half the time the train did. I wish we knew before we started our way back, we could have spent a few more hours seeing Amsterdam!

Next stop, Prague!
