    The Embroidered Trend Continues

The embroidered trend continues into Spring and I can’t say I’m mad about it.  This has to be one of my favorite fashion trends in awhile that I could wear every day. I remember when I was younger my mother use to sew embroidered ribbon to my pant’s legs to make them appear longer. I grew out of clothes so fast, this was an easy fix for an extra 2 inches. I always got excited to pick out the embroidered pattern, so you could guess how happy I was when it came back in style last Fall! One of my favorite embroidered pieces isn’t even clothing, it’s my phone case. Check out…

Hiking from Boca de Tomatlan to Las Animas – Mexico part 2

Before going to Puerto Vallarta I did a lot of searching to find activities to do outside the city. Puerto Vallarta is definitely a resort city full of retirees, so finding something low key was pretty hard. I found a good bit of reviews and posts about a hike from Boca to Animas. Mostly, all the post were from 2014 and not the most up to date. That being said, the hike is not as secluded as it used to be and we passed multiple groups of people. However, Colin and I both agree this hike made the trip to Puerto Vallarta. We took a bus from our place (about 15…

    Velvet blazer

Zara always has some major sale going on and I couldn’t pass up the opportunity to not get this blazer. I’ve been wanting a velvet blazer for some time, however, blazers are so hard to find that fit properly and aren’t over expensive! I took a chance and bought this one since it was under half the price it was original. And I love it! I took these photos before leaving on Vacation, so it’s much warmer now 🙂

    Puerto Vallarta – Day 1

Heading to the New part of town Loved exploring the streets Made the mistake of petting the cat So, it followed us around a bit I’ve been back from Mexico two days and I’m ready to start planning for our next trip. I usually include all the details for our trip in one giant post, however, this time I am going to write smaller separate posts. For our first day in Mexico, we spent most of our time hanging out at our hotel/beach and exploring the city. This was the first trip that I did not plan everything before arriving. To tell you the truth, Puerto Vallarta seemed really touristy on…

    Boyfriend coat

When I shared this look on Instagram, it received great feedback. So, I wanted to share it here where you can shop the look below.   When I first saw it online I wasn’t too sure I would like it. I have such a love/hate relationship with anything boyfriend fit. I actually came back two days later to give it a try and I’m glad I did! I’ve been wearing this boyfriend coat non-stop lately. The fit is easily dressed up for the office or down for a day of errands and a plus its not too heavy!

    Cardigan weather

As the weather gets warmer (then drops again) I cannot help to think of all the winter weather we did not have this year. I am such a fan of winter and upset I did not wear all of my winter coats to their fullest this year. Pretty soon I am going to be packing up all my winter clothes to make room for spring. Seems way too soon! Here are pictures from a warmer day last week. Below check out a few of my favorite cardigans for the warmer weather:

    The great winter storm

coffee is always a must on snow days! We don’t have many snow storms in the south, so when Colin and I found out we were going to have one we had to go to the mountains. We left Friday after work and drove to the cabin. It didn’t start snowing until we were 20 minutes away and it really started to come down. There was already an inch on the ground when we arrive and headed out to dinner. The next day we headed into Asheville bright and early, actually before the sun even came up. It was still snowing and there was over 5 inches on the ground…

    Here’s to 2017!!

After looking through pictures from 2016, i’ve realized all the things I forgot happen during the year. I found myself saying “that was this year?!?” multiple times.  Besides all the unfortunate events that happen this year, I found 2016 to be one of my most successful. Even though I created my blog at the end of 2015, I became more engaged and decided to stick with it through the ups and down this year. I also started 2016 out amazing by stepping out of my comfort zone and taking a trip to China. I’ve always been interested in traveling, but this trip started the spark to travel to many more…

    Rose Gold Christmas

This is my first year being able to really decorate for Christmas. Last year, we had a tree in our apartment but that’s about it! This year we don’t live in a small apartment and have room to decorate. I went with a rose gold silver theme, since our tree was mostly silver from last year and I didn’t want to buy all new ornaments. haha. Target and homegoods are my favorite places to look for decorations, I also picked up a few items from West Elm here and there. My favorite item has to be the Metal Snowflake Garland, I randomly ordered when I was buying Christmas gifts…

    Shiny Knits

December has to be the most unpredictable month of the year in the south. Just the other day I was walking around the block in my workout shorts and now the weather is saying we are going to be getting freezing rain this weekend. I never know what to wear until I step outside in the mornings and the most frustrating is not being able to store my summer clothes away, because I might need them tomorrow! Anyway, while trying to organize my summer and winter clothes, I found this knit sweater dress I bought from MINKPINK (similar) during the Summer. I decided to dress it down a bit because…
