The great winter storm

coffee is always a must on snow days!

We don’t have many snow storms in the south, so when Colin and I found out we were going to have one we had to go to the mountains. We left Friday after work and drove to the cabin. It didn’t start snowing until we were 20 minutes away and it really started to come down. There was already an inch on the ground when we arrive and headed out to dinner.

The next day we headed into Asheville bright and early, actually before the sun even came up. It was still snowing and there was over 5 inches on the ground and Colin was excited to be able to drive in the snow before everyone else. We were lucky to find a place open for breakfast right in the center of town, it was actually the ONLY place we saw open. After stopping the get coffee, we headed to check out New Belgium. Which is actually a great tour, even if you don’t enjoy beer like me.

We knew we wanted to make it back home before Sunday, so we waited until the roads mostly cleared and headed back home. We hope to make it back up next weekend for skiing 🙂

Also, made a short video of the trip 🙂
