Our time in New York was pretty short and busy, but we wanted to fit in as much as possible. Our second day there we woke up at 5:30am and headed toward the finger lakes. They were about 2.5 hours away and we needed to be back in Buffalo¬†for a dinner at 6pm.¬† But I couldn’t pass up the opportunity to see Watkins Glen. It has been on my list for some time now and we were going to be so close to it! So, we rented a car for two days and crammed everything outside the city into it. The ride out there was so beautiful and most of the time we drove next to the Finger Lakes. My goal when traveling is to arrive before anything opens, so it is never too crowded with people. If we are lucky, like we were at Watkins Glen, no one will be there when you arrive. The gorge was loud and powerful since it had been so rainy! Sadly, we only had an hour and a half to walk through the Park. We didn’t make it all the way through but it was worth the trip!

This is amazing! I had no idea anything like this existed in NY.
