    The great winter storm

coffee is always a must on snow days! We don’t have many snow storms in the south, so when Colin and I found out we were going to have one we had to go to the mountains. We left Friday after work and drove to the cabin. It didn’t start snowing until we were 20 minutes away and it really started to come down. There was already an inch on the ground when we arrive and headed out to dinner. The next day we headed into Asheville bright and early, actually before the sun even came up. It was still snowing and there was over 5 inches on the ground…

    Here’s to 2017!!

After looking through pictures from 2016, i’ve realized all the things I forgot happen during the year. I found myself saying “that was this year?!?” multiple times.  Besides all the unfortunate events that happen this year, I found 2016 to be one of my most successful. Even though I created my blog at the end of 2015, I became more engaged and decided to stick with it through the ups and down this year. I also started 2016 out amazing by stepping out of my comfort zone and taking a trip to China. I’ve always been interested in traveling, but this trip started the spark to travel to many more…

    Christmas 2016

I cannot believe Christmas has passed already! This year Colin and I spent Christmas morning in Charleston with his family. Colin’s family is huge compared to mine, so it can be a bit hectic at times. However, I always enjoy getting together with his family, it’s like a small reunion because they all live allover and are very different from each other. The first night there Colin and I cooked dinner for 15 people, even though I enjoy cooking it was a lot of work and took 5 hours! The next day Colin’s mom rented a carriage ride for the whole family to take around Charleston. On Christmas eve, at…

    Rose Gold Christmas

This is my first year being able to really decorate for Christmas. Last year, we had a tree in our apartment but that’s about it! This year we don’t live in a small apartment and have room to decorate. I went with a rose gold silver theme, since our tree was mostly silver from last year and I didn’t want to buy all new ornaments. haha. Target and homegoods are my favorite places to look for decorations, I also picked up a few items from West Elm here and there. My favorite item has to be the Metal Snowflake Garland, I randomly ordered when I was buying Christmas gifts…

    The Grove Park Inn

See, huge fireplaces! Views from the Blue Ridge Restaurant “Smokey” because of the wild fires Have any of you ever been the the Grove Park Inn!?! If not, you need to make a trip tomorrow for real! Especially during the holidays when everything is decorated and beautiful. This was our second year making a trip to the Grove Park Inn to enjoy Sunday brunch with Colin’s parents. It never disappoints, it seriously is the best brunch I have ever had! Plus, it is a buffet and I never even have enough room to taste everything in the restaurant. I am still dreaming about the food 🙂 After brunch, we always spend some time…

    The perfect tree

My boots were covered in dirt because it was so dry! Marley looks so confused lol Hot cider 🙂 This is our second year cutting our own tree and living together for the holidays!! I hope we can keep up this tradition up, because we both enjoy it.  Last year we picked out the perfect little tree for our small one bedroom apartment (trust me, it was small!). This year we spent a good while finding one we thought would be small enough. However, when we brought it inside and opened it up, it was huge! We knew it was too big the second we stood it up and it hit our…

    Firmoo

I never wear my glasses anywhere. I usually keep them by the bed and they never leave from there haha. I am a contacts girl all the way. I think it’s mostly because I have never found a style I liked enough.  I also cannot stand when I have to get a new pair, going to the store and trying on a million pair.  I recently ordered a new pair from Firmoo and I love them! The process was definitely less stressful and you can do it from your living room. PLUS, just look at the prices! I usually pay at least $200 dollars for a new pair and they…

    Amsterdam!!

^^ The truffle goat cheese is a must! Our hotel was so cute! If I ever go back, I would stay here again! On our way to Prague, we decided to stop in Amsterdam for a night. I am so glad we did and so sad we didn’t get to stay longer! Since this was my mom’s first time in Europe and we didn’t have much time on the trip, I wanted her to see as much as possible. The first night we walked around Amsterdam and just admired all the cute shops, cafes and canals. Amsterdam was so beautiful! We ended up going into the Cheese Company and trying all the different…

    Wet Weekends

I love this type of weather, where it’s cool enough to wear a jacket, but it’s still not hot enough to make me sweat on my way into work. haha (These days are rare here, I usually enter work looking like I ran 10 miles!!). This past week has been WET, but I loved it, I enjoy being able to open my windows and hear the rain. Very smoothing after a long week of work. Anyways, I’m getting very excited for my upcoming trip. My mom has never been to Europe, so for her Mother’s Day gift I planned a very short trip for us!  We are going to visit 3 countries in…

    Chilly Charleston

My boyfriend and I decided to spend Valentines day pretty low key.  I asked him to cancel the reservations for Sunday, so we spend the weekend in Charleston.  I crammed all the new places I could think of into one weekend. I feel like a million new places open up, each time we go there. Sunday ended up being pretty nice and relaxing. It started off with a huge chocolate croissant and a stop at Black Tap Coffee . Which is a very cute coffee shop. However, if you go there during its busy hours, don’t expect to get a sit. Even though there is a good bit of seating, all the…
