The Perfect Wood Watch for Valentine’s Day

Can you believe that Valentine’s Day is right around the corner? Colin and I will be celebrating our fifth Valentine’s day together. I still cannot believe it has really been that long. I always find Valentines to be the hardest holiday to shop for Colin. I know a million items he would love to receive, but this gift should be meaningful and romantic. Romantic gifts for guys are so hard to come by and I did not want to give him another set of cufflinks, haha. Last year, I remember searching the web for hours to come up with a gift for Colin. Thankfully, we decided to skip the gift…

What’s on my List at 25

Cannot believe I am turning twenty-five tomorrow. Where has the time gone? I don’t even remember turning twenty-three and if you asked, I couldn’t tell you anything that happened that year. I feel like each year is going by quicker and quicker since graduating college. I may be a quarter through my life, but I still don’t look a day over twenty-one. Just ask all the restaurants and bars out there. For this post I thought it would be fun to share items that have been at the top of my personal list for 2018. Most items I added to assist with achieving my goals from my New Years post.…

    Hello, 2018!

Wow, this year went by fast! Going through and creating this post, I kept asking myself, “That was this year?”. It’s crazy how long ago some memories seem. This year I was able to travel to Mexico, Iceland and a few long weekend trips to Florida and New York. My boyfriend and I was able to buy our first home together, and I started a new job that combined two of my favorite things. I have personally never created resolutions for myself in the new year. However, this coming year there are a few things I hope to change. I’ve listed out my top 4 below. Take better care of…

    Kitchen Reveal!

Here’s a quick before and after!   I can finally share my kitchen reveal with you all! When we closed, the first project we wanted to tackle was our kitchen. I always knew I was going to paint the cabinets because I wanted to pick a custom color for the bottom half. I started work on them the day we closed.  I’m a complete control freak so I wouldn’t let Colin help with much. If it didn’t turn out well, at least it would be my fault. haha. I did let him help with sanding and putting the cabinets back together because I was exhausted at that point. Colin and…

    Our first house update!

I meant to write this post a few weeks ago, but we have been so busy! Anyway, we are finally settled (somewhat, haha) into our new house and we love it! We still have a lot of work to do and furniture we still need to buy to make it ours, but we are getting there. There is so much extra space we need to fill compared to our small townhome.  It’s still kinda strange having a place that actually belongs to us and we can do whatever we want with it. Sometimes, I will hit the wall in my closet or yell for Colin and worry if the neighbors can hear…

Life update – We are building!

I’ve posted a bit about it on Instagram stories, but I have yet to officially share it on my blog. Colin and I are building! I am writing this as we head out to look for furniture and decided it was a good time to share our update. We are less than two months from completing the build and we are getting more and more excited each week! Colin and I started our search in February for a house.  We were tired of renting when our money could be going to a house. First, we had to decide what city we wanted to live in. At the time, I was working in…

Our Trip to the Florida Springs

Right before I fell into the water You can’t really tell, but the water below me is about 15 feet deep. Devil’s eye   A few weeks ago, Colin and I both took a Friday off and decided to head to a place we’ve been wanting to visit for awhile, the Florida Springs. We left after work on Thursday and headed down to the middle of nowhere Florida. When we arrived it was two in the morning and pitch black. We had no clue where to go, so we found a spot inside the park and camped for the night. We woke up super early and headed to the springs. It was…

Home tour | A look around our townhouse

We’ve been in our new place almost a year and our lease is coming to an end. I never officially shared a tour of our place yet, so I thought now was a perfect time to do so on the blog. We decided to move from an apartment to a townhouse for more freedom in the renting world. What really appealed to us here is the open layout! Once you walk through the front door you can see the back door, that’s how open it is. So, we are really hoping our next place will be just as open! The Living Room Our living room was a tough one to layout. It took…

Hiking from Boca de Tomatlan to Las Animas – Mexico part 2

Before going to Puerto Vallarta I did a lot of searching to find activities to do outside the city. Puerto Vallarta is definitely a resort city full of retirees, so finding something low key was pretty hard. I found a good bit of reviews and posts about a hike from Boca to Animas. Mostly, all the post were from 2014 and not the most up to date. That being said, the hike is not as secluded as it used to be and we passed multiple groups of people. However, Colin and I both agree this hike made the trip to Puerto Vallarta. We took a bus from our place (about 15…

    Puerto Vallarta – Day 1

Heading to the New part of town Loved exploring the streets Made the mistake of petting the cat So, it followed us around a bit I’ve been back from Mexico two days and I’m ready to start planning for our next trip. I usually include all the details for our trip in one giant post, however, this time I am going to write smaller separate posts. For our first day in Mexico, we spent most of our time hanging out at our hotel/beach and exploring the city. This was the first trip that I did not plan everything before arriving. To tell you the truth, Puerto Vallarta seemed really touristy on…
