Iceland Part 4: Silfra snorkeling, Aurora Borealis, & Reykjavik
Be sure to check out the rest of our trip to Iceland Part 1 | Part 2 | Part 3 Finally, part four of our Iceland trip! This post will cover our last 3 days in Iceland up until the time we left. Our fourth day in Iceland, started out early again. We left our hotel around 9:30 and I was really hoping to see it in daylight. It never got bright enough and we ended up being late to our snorkeling tour, oops. When looking for activities to do in Iceland, I wanted to do something we couldn’t do anywhere else in the world. Where else can you swim between two tectonic…

Iceland Part 3: Fjaðrárgljúfur and Vík
Be sure to check out the rest of our trip to Iceland Part 1 | Part 2 Day three in Iceland is going to be a long one and filled with GoT locations! We woke up in Vík and headed right out the door. We never saw one of our hotels in daylight and the funny thing is, I paid extra for rooms with a view. Such a waste, but I wasn’t even thinking when I booked the rooms! Our first stop was Fjaðrárgljúfur (I have no clue how to say that out loud). This stop was at the top of my list when planning our trip. The pictures of Fjaðrárgljúfur…

Since we were already going to be on the east side of the island, we also booked an ice cave tour. We got a late start to the day waiting on the hotel to serve breakfast. Even though it was the best breakfast we had in Iceland, I would’ve skipped it for more daylight to explore. Daylight lasted from 10:30 to 3:30, only about 5 hours total. When it was cloudy, it seemed even shorter and it was cloudy/raining 3 out of the…

Iceland Part 1: The Blue Lagoon
I am excited to finally write about our trip to Iceland! I can honestly say, Iceland was seriously the most amazing/beautiful place I have ever visited. Colin and I didn’t plan to go to Iceland this year or anywhere outside North America. We just bought a house and were planning on taking a small trip down to the Bahamas in December. However, one day I landed on a site about Iceland and started looking up flights. I texted Colin that night asking if he would be up for going to Iceland. I was partly joking but when he texted back yes, I couldn’t get it out of my head! We ended…
